The project began with a site visit to a chosen lot in Chicago's South Loop measuring only 16' wide. The site is directly adjacent to the Herald Washington Library on Congress Parkway within a neighborhood known as Printer's Row.
Programming the slim site for a luxury apartment building, the spaces within were designed to be somewhat flexible; giving tenants maximum possibility to make the space their own despite how little area existed in each apartment. Overhangs were also utilized to incorporate balcony space while being mindful of the cost of air space in Chicago.
